Kia Ora bloggers. Today I am going to write a short description about the S.P.C.A.
Did you know 'S.P.C.A.' stands for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
The S.P.C.A. is taking so much care of animals/pets that are abused, lost, unwanted, or abandoned. They feed and give them the right place for them to rest. Sometimes people visit the S.P.C.A., and decide if they want to take the animal/pet or not. Every year, the SPCA takes in millions of cats and dogs that are abused, lost, or unwanted. Although many of these animals find new homes or are reunited with their owners, countless others have to be put to sleep because the SPCA can't take care of all of them.
We have a cat Groot, we got him from the S.P.C.A, as we wanted to give a home to a cat that was abandoned and needed love. He is like a member of the family now, and we love him so much.
Blog you later!
Hey Maddison,
ReplyDeleteThis is a great post. I love what the S.P.C.A stand for and how they protect animals who cannot protect themselves.
We are very lucky to have Groot as part of our family. I have always adopted cats that needed a home. One day I hope to be able to adopt a dog and give it the same love and protection we give Groot.
Super Blogging

Ahiahi Mārie Maddison,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Kueni and I am one of the Summer Learning Journey (SLJ) blog commenters for this summer. I am working with Eliza in the Ako Hiko cluster which means I get the pleasure of reading your blog posts over the next 2 weeks :)
Kei te pai on making it to your first bonus activity of week one! I like that you have chosen the SPCA charity for this activity and that you have acknowledged their work with animals. This has proven to be a very popular charity with a lot of the students within the Ako Hiko cluster.
I really enjoyed reading your blog post today, and you have written about this charity in such great detail. Thank you also for sharing about your own pet, Groot. How did you choose his name? I think it is pretty neat that you got him from the SPCA.
Did you know that the SPCA offers free online resources to educate people about the SPCA and animals. I will post the link to their website where you can out more, It is such an awesome resource bank:
