Summer Learning Journey - Swimming to Safety
Kia Ora Bloggers, today I have read a story about Yusra Mardini, below is a short recount of her story.
Yusra became a refugee by leaving Syria because of the war. She left Syria by boat in 2015.Saving lives of 20 people when the boat engine broke down. With her family, she now lives in Germany. She joined the Refugee Olympic Team as a swimmer and competed at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
I think she was very brave, and is now doing something she loves.

Summer Learning Journey - National Treasure
Today I have to share some things that are important to me.
- My parents are so important to me because they take care of me and make me laugh a lot.
- My friends and family because they keep me company.
- My pets because when I’m bored I can play with my pets.
What is important to you? Are some of these similar to mine?
