Summer Learning Journey - Celebrating Summer - Week 5 Day 1 - Build an Anti Gravity Glass with Nanogirl!

Kia Ora bloggers! Today I had to create a Anti Gravity Glass with the help of Nanogirl. For the first task we had to fill up a drinking glass with water to the top and put a piece of thin cardboard onto the top and tip the glass upside down. The first time I tipped the glass upside down it didn't work and the water spilled out but I tried again and it worked. Then for the second task we had to cut an empty plastic bottle to make a little cup with the bottom half, cut a hole big enough to fit the string through and do the same on the opposite side and then tie the string through and do a double knot. Then you need to add a little bit of water in the little cup you made and twist the string around your hand (not to tight) and then swing it around in a circle out in front of you and then see how much water came out.

Here are the videos I created.

Summer Learning Journey - Celebrating Summer - Week 3 Day 1 - Build a Super Column with Nanogirl!

Welcome back to another Super Hero Blog post!! Today we were testing out columns and strength. We made walls as well as columns! The columns we made were triangular and circular ones. The walls we tried first and even with one rock it didn't work!Next we tried the triangular ones and it worked with two rocks. then we used the circular columns. This column was the strongest because it could hold two food cans, (with food in it) and two rocks!!
Here are some videos showing you which ones are stronger and weaker:

Summer Learning Journey - Celebrating Summer - Week 2 Day 1 - Build a Xylophone with Nanogirl!

Welcome back to my blog. Today's task involves Nanogirl!! I had my friend visiting who is also doing the Summer Learning Journey.  We decided to make these together, but make our own videos.  You can check out her video here.  Firstly we had to make an paper xylophone out of 5 pieces of A4 paper. We also had to make a water xylophone,  out of 5 glass cups including water to put in the cups. When we tried this we were also listening to the tunes they made. Here are some of the pictures of what we made:

We had to record ourselves singing a super hero song that goes with the beat we created with the equipment from above. Here is my video:

Hope you enjoyed the video!!

Summer Learning Journey - Nanogirl

Today’s blog is about Tiny Houses. Would I like to live in one??

Yes!!  I like to spend time by myself.  Having my own tiny home would give me my own privacy and not having anyone tell me what to do.  Being in a tiny home would help me keep my stuff tidy as I wouldn't be able to have too much stuff.

If I had one with wheels I would be able to take it to the beach.  How amazing would that be, being able to wake up and walk outside your door to the beach.
