Summer Learning Journey - Celebrating Summer - Week 5 Day 5 - It's A Balancing Act

Kia Ora bloggers! Today I had to watch a video of someone stacking some rocks on the edge of a small river by a little water fall and the he takes photos of the stack. Then for the Kick Start task I had to try and stack some rocks like him in the video. And for the Step it up I had to do the same thing but either with only rocks or sticks or both. So I decided to use both as well as using sticks on their own. We also had to add an image onto a google drawing and add labels to what are the important parts of the stack. I also named my stacks, The Haunted Stone Temple, Sticks, Sticks And Even More Sticks!, and The Two-Headed Lizard.

Here is my slideshow I added them to:

Kia Ora bloggers! Today we had to write down on a google drawing and research what happens in the holidays in New Zealand and add it to a google drawing. Then we had to use Jamboard and find difference about New Zealand compared to another country ans add it to the Jamboard. The country I chose is France. Summer Learning Journey - Celebrating Summer - Week 5 Day 3 - Poi Rakau

Kia Ora bloggers! Today is another Maori post because I am going to teach you how to play Poi Rakau. It is a really fun game! For the Kick Start activity we had to watch a video on how to play it the practice saying left and right in Maori. Then we had to play it with our family or friends. We had to create our own instructions either using screencastify or a Google Slide Deck.

For the Step It Up activity we had to use the same slideshow and then add some more movements into the slide.

Here is my slideshow:

Below are some links to the things I watched and used:

Summer Learning Journey - Celebrating Summer - Week 5 Day 3 - Summer Song Maker

Kia Ora bloggers! Today's post is about music and songs because we had to create our own song using Song Maker from Music Lab. I had so much fun doing this task. My song reminds me of summer because in the lyrics I talk about summer and they also remind me because of the way I added the notes. I used WeVideo to add the images and adios to the song.

Here is my Song: Click on the image below to see my song:

I also have written down my lyrics. Click HERE for the link to the lyrics.

Kia Ora bloggers! Today's task is the Step It Up part of Whai String Games. This time we had to make a Parachute or a Two Of Diamonds. Then we had to teach someone how to do it. I taught my sister when she tried to make it again she said it was too hard to make.

Summer Learning Journey - Celebrating Summer - Week 5 Day 1 - Build an Anti Gravity Glass with Nanogirl!

Kia Ora bloggers! Today I had to create a Anti Gravity Glass with the help of Nanogirl. For the first task we had to fill up a drinking glass with water to the top and put a piece of thin cardboard onto the top and tip the glass upside down. The first time I tipped the glass upside down it didn't work and the water spilled out but I tried again and it worked. Then for the second task we had to cut an empty plastic bottle to make a little cup with the bottom half, cut a hole big enough to fit the string through and do the same on the opposite side and then tie the string through and do a double knot. Then you need to add a little bit of water in the little cup you made and twist the string around your hand (not to tight) and then swing it around in a circle out in front of you and then see how much water came out.

Here are the videos I created.
