Summer Learning Journey - Discovering Aotearoa

Kia Ora bloggers. Today I am going to Discover Aotearoa. For this activity I have to think about where my family come from. My Mum was born in Australia, and my Dad was born right here in Aotearoa.  My siblings and I were all born in Tamaki Makarau (Auckland), Aotearoa. 

What is most important and special to my Whanau & I is love and whanau. Being together and spending time with whanau and friends means a lot to us.  Sometimes we talk in Te Reo. We like to continue traditions and create our own ones too.

I love My Whanau so much that I tell stories about what my Whanau and I have done to my friends & teachers. Before we eat our dinner Samuel, Leeya and I sing a Karakia.

Week 1 Day 1 Activity 2 - North and South

My second activity for Day 1 is talking about my hometown and what i think is special about it.         

 My hometown is Auckland.

Auckland has lots of big buildings like the Sky Tower, but way shorter than the Sky Tower.  We are lucky enough to be surrounded by lots of  water.  You can view the Ocean from many places in Auckland and see the boats on the water, you can also go on the boats, but you have to pay.
