Week 1 Day 1 Activity 2 - North and South

My second activity for Day 1 is talking about my hometown and what i think is special about it.

 My hometown is Auckland.

Auckland has lots of big buildings like the Sky Tower, but way shorter than the Sky Tower.  We are lucky enough to be surrounded by lots of  water.  You can view the Ocean from many places in Auckland and see the boats on the water, you can also go on the boats, but you have to pay.

  2. Kia ora Maddison,

Well done on completing the second activity 'North and South' and telling us about Auckland. You are absolutely right that we are surrounded by water and have plenty of boats in our harbor. No wonder we are known as the City of Sails. I think this is such a unique and beautiful thing about Auckland that we have water on either side of the city. We are lucky to see visitors like orca, leopard seals, and occasionally dolphins, swim up in our harbor.

What I love about Auckland is all the pockets of greenery. We have large parks, beautiful mountains, which are also volcanoes, and pockets of native bush. My family and I are lucky to live on the edge of a native bush and can wonder through the forest spotting kauri trees, nikau ferns, and plenty of native birds.

We are lucky to live in a beautiful, vibrant city. Thank you for the lovely description of Auckland.

Keep up the great work, Maddison.

    Nga mihi,
    Megan :)
