Week 1 Day 5 Activity 1 - Towering Timbers

I need to write two reasons why or why not logging should be allowed in NZ.

My 1st reason is: Yes because if we didn't cut the trees down we wouldn't have enough wood to build/make houses, sheds, shops, paper, benches, or fences.

My 2nd reason is: Yes because it makes jobs like cutting the trees down then getting a big truck and a crane and lifting the logs up and on the truck.

Check back for more of my Summer Learning Journey.

  1. Hello Maddison

My name is Daniel and I am part of the Summer Learning Journey program. Well done on completing this activity. I agree with you - I also think that logging should be allowed in New Zealand (for the jobs and resources) but I think that we should start recycling and reusing the wood we already have. For example, if there is a house that is getting demolished to make some newer houses, instead of getting new planks of wood we could use the old ones from the previous house. Anyway, keep up the awesome work Maddison!

  3. Hi Maddison,

You have come up with some valid reasons for why logging should be allowed. I would say that as long as they are replanting more trees, it should be ok.

    Awesome blogging
