Summer Learning Journey - Miracle on the Hudson

Kia Ora blogger. Today I am going to be recounting a time when I was scared to do something but I did it anyway.

One time when we went to the wave pools and I didn’t want to swim through the Lazy River because it was fast. I decided to be brave and try it, but it can take you a few times swimming around to get out of the Lazy river but it's really fun when you try it out. Now I am confident in it, and sometimes my siblings and I race around the lazy river, or play water tag.

Did you know that Mr Chesley Sullenberger became famous when he landed his aeroplane in the middle of the Hudson River in New York City. He had to make an emergency lane when both of the engines in his aeroplane lost power.

When have you been brave?

Blog you later!

  1. Afternoon Maddison,

I still remember this day and how scared you were about going into the Lazy River. Now we can't keep you out of it. With taking risks like this your confidence has also increased and this in turn has helped excel your swimming.

    Keep being brave!!

  2. Malo e lelei Maddison,

Kueni here again from the Summer Learning Journey, I hope you are having an awesome Monday!

Well done for completing Week One, Day Two, Activity Three: BONUS ACTIVITY. Thank you for sharing about a time you had to be brave. I know what it’s like to be in a lazy river, it can be quite scary because the water just moves you and it can be a little hard sometimes. You should be very proud of yourself for overcoming this fear and being brave!

A time I was brave would be when I went to some waterfalls in Tauranga with my family. Nobody wanted to be the first one to jump in from up high, so I just said I would do it.

Where is your favourite place to swim, is it a certain beach? Swimming pools? Lake/ River?

I look forward to reading more of your blog posts,
    Kueni :)
