Summer Learning Journey - Celebrating Diversity

Kia Ora blogger's. Today's blog is about Indigenous Peoples, I have to read a short text and want to share three facts that I learnt about the Ainu People from Japan.

1. Only 15 people in the world speak 'Ainu'

2. There are 25,000 Ainu living in Japan

3. Ainu people live off the land eating deer, bear, rabbit, fox, salmon and root vegetables.

Did you know anything about Ainu People before reading my blog

  2. Hey Maddison,

These are really interesting facts, I didn't know about Ainu people before reading this blog. It is such a shame that only 15 people actually speak their language. It will be sad when the day comes that no one speaks it and the language is lost.

I might have to look up and find out some more about the Ainu people. Is there anything else you wanted to find out about them?

    xx

  4. Kia Ora Maddison,

Thank you for completing another fantastic blog post this afternoon. I really like this activity because you’re able to learn about many different indigenous communities that not many people know about.

I really enjoyed reading your blog post today, thank you for sharing some of the information you learned about the Ainu people from Japan. I enjoyed reading the 3 facts you have put together and also like the pictures you have used in your blog post.

This activity asks you to choose TWO groups from the list and share at least two facts about these people. You have done one, if you could please have a go at doing another group of people and adding this to your blog post today so I can award you full points for this activity.

I look forward to reading your response,
    Kueni :)

  5. Hello Maddison,
My name is Vitaraag and I am taking part in the Summer Learning Journey this summer. I really enjoyed reading this blog post! Let me explain why I like it. Firstly, you added pictures to make the blog post! More interesting. Secondly, you gave the viewers a question at the end. A fact that peaked my curiosity was the first one about only 15 people can speak Ainu. I never learned how to speak my language. The reason being I was born in a different country. Maybe next time you could add information about what the activity taught you. Overall, this is a phenomenal blog post! Keep up the astonishing work!
