For this blog post I have to describe to you what New Zealand life was in 2018.
In New Zealand we have lots of an amazing beaches, amazing sights that you can see from the Sky Tower! There are sea aquariums that have cool sea creatures like penguins, stingrays, eels, and fish, like the puffer fish, angle fish. We also have a Zoo, it has, Giraffes, Kiwis, Zebras, Tiger, Flamingos, Red Panda, Lizards. Rotorua has Hot pools, Mud pools and a Hotel you can stay in.

Hi Maddison,
ReplyDeleteIt's Leslie here, reading your blog from my home in far away Canada as a member of the Summer Learning Journey team. It's wonderful that you've chosen to do this activity, describing New Zealand for those of us who live on the other side of the planet.
It sounds as though there are some really interesting things to do and see in New Zealand and in Auckland, in particular. Aquariums and zoos are excellent places in which to learn about a country's animal/sea life. And it's very appealing to think of coming to see your amazing beaches.
In Canada we're in the middle of our winter and so the ground is covered with snow, the temperatures are around -20 C. in the daytime and lower at night, and the sun sets at about 4:45 pm. That means that we have fairly short days right now. We don't have the kinds of huge beaches that you have around Auckland but, even if we did, we certainly wouldn't be able to visit them right now. Most of our lakes and rivers are frozen solid. Is that hard for you to imagine?
You mention Rotorua in your description of New Zealand. Is that a special place for you? Have you visited Rotorua or do you have family there? I visited the city a long time ago when my family came to New Zealand to stay with some friends in Auckland. We drove to Rotorua to see the mud pools and geysers but what most surprised us was the smell of rotten eggs that we noticed as we approached the city. This is because of the hydrogen sulphide in the air, of course. We got used to the odour but it was a bit of a shock at first!!
I'm glad that you've decided to participate in the Summer Learning Journey program this year. I'm enjoying your blog!
Keep up your great efforts!!
Cheers,
Leslie
Hi Maddison,
ReplyDeleteYou have done a great job describing out country and what we have to offer. We are lucky that we have so much to offer from the Surf beaches in Raglan to the Snow Slopes at Mt Ruapehu and in the South Island. Lovely bushes nationwide. Lots of venues with animals and wildlife.
What is your favourite part of our country?
Mum
My favourite part of New Zealand is Mahia because I can swim in the water and When I look under the rocks I find crabs and sometimes I can see little fish
