Kia Ora blogger's. Today’s blog is about Stephen Hawking, he was an English scientist who studied the beginning of the universe. When he was young he was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease and slowly lost the ability to walk and talk. He needed to use a wheelchair to move him around and a computer to help him to talk. He didn't let it stop him from doing what he wanted to do.
It was really challenging when my school had to do athletics, I had to sprint as part of our house relays. My legs got really tired so I said to myself, 'I need to slow down but I can't because my team would come last.' So I sprinted as fast as I could go and I never stopped until I got back to were I started sprinting. Here is a photo of me sprinting.
Blog you later.

ReplyDeleteWow, you are really an inspiration for other people. I remember that I also did sprints. But you were like a rocket out there. Stephen Hawking was a really smart man. Right? Maybe next time you should add what the activity told you to do. Otherwise, great blog post Maddison.

Hello Maddison,
ReplyDeleteVitaraag here! My heart is racing so fast (yes that was a pun) because the Summer Learning Journey is so close to finishing. I am kind of happy, but also sad. I really like how you added some back story to this activity. I knew Stephen Hawking was diagnosed with an illness, but I never knew it was motor neuron disease. He was an amazing and smart man. Sadly, he died quite recently, 2018 March 14. I remember when I was doing cross country, my legs were wobbling so much. You must be so strong. Were you doing cross country?
Have a nice day

Great blog Maddison, sometimes it is hard to overcome a challenge. This years SLJ has been a bit of a challenge with our lack of internet connection and issues with loading photos and videos. But you got there in the end. Lots of perseverance and patience.
ReplyDeleteKeep being you and trying your best. Give everything a go and keep the smile on your face.
Awesome work
xx
