Last week we did Cross Country. The school ran really hard to get fit and ready to run. It was the 11th September on a Wednesday. We had awesome activities like the obstacle course, skipping, warming up for the run, and then the run. The year 2, the year 1 & 0's go, then the year 3's, the 4's year 5's and at the end of all of the other races the year 6's run. The obstacle course had 13 courses, the bouncing ball, bringing the ring to the other end of the string, climb over the climbing frame, the over the hurdles, across the swing, over the mushrooms, up the ladder, down the fire mans pole, across the hoops, through 3 balls in 3 buckets, over other hurdles again, through the spider web, over the other climbing frame and run back to the starting line.
Each activity was 15 minutes long. My team went to the the game area first, then to the Football goals, then we went to skipping, then the obstacle course, warming up and cheering the runners, then we did the run. After we did the exercises we had some kai from our lunch boxes and the bake sale. We all had a tiring day from running skipping. Here are some photos of the fun and tiring day:

Squash Activities
Squash Activities
Kia Ora bloggers! In term 3, the middles and the seniors have been doing Squash. Squash is a sport, it's like tennis but without a net. The squash court has 3 sides; the front, the right side and the left side. It will also have 3 lines; the top is the outer red line, the middle is the service line and the bottom is the tin line. You have 2 rackets and a sponge ball. How you have to play is the person with the ball has to bounce it on the ground, try and hit the ball on the other persons side but above the service line(the middle line). The other person has to bonce the ball back to you. Try and get as many bounces as you can. If you hit the ball above the outer red line you're out, but if you hit the ball to low under the tin line you are also out. If you want to you can practice on a wall at your home or at a park wall. Our instructor is Jude. He is an awesome instructor. Jude knows a lot about squash. My class Hauraki does squash every Wednesday before lunch, Manukau does it after morning tea, and Waitamati does it in the afternoon. One of the activities was that we had to try and throw up the sponge ball and catch the ball.
