Week 3 Day 2 Activity 3 - Flying Fungi

Today I have to imagine we ran a test in our classroom and discovered 7 different types of mould.   Eeewww gross.
The cleaner said it will day 5 days for each mould to be removed.  I now have to work out how many days it will take to remove all the moulds one at a time.

How I solved the problem out was that I did 7 moulds ×5 days each =35 days in total

Check out my blog for more of my Summer Learning Journey.

  1. Kia ora Maddison,

Well done for answering this math problem correctly. It will most definitely take 35 days to eradicate all of the 7 types of mould. I did not know there were so many different types of mould. I went away for 10 days over the summer and accidently left some past in the microwave. When I returned it was like this big hairy fur ball. This was a type of mould I had never seen before. It took me a while to work out what was in the container. It was gross.

If the people working to eradicate the mould are working every day of the week (7 days), how many week weeks would it take for all 7 moulds to disappear?

    Keep on going, Maddison.

    Good luck,
    Megan :)

  2. Hi Maddison,

Great maths skills. Luckily our school doesn't have this issue. Imagine your classroom being unusable for 35 days.

    Great blogging!!
